sister sweet

Posted in photography on July 27, 2008 by chris

it’s been a while since i’ve posted!  had a few shoots since then–here’s the latest.  i was asked to photograph local band Sister Sweet for URGE magazine.  they were gracious enough to give me a few minutes before a show on saturday night.  it was a challenging 10pm shoot, but i was able to get a few good shots, thanks to an easygoing and photogenic group.

unfortunately, i wasn’t able to stick around for their show, but based on what i’ve heard on their myspace page, they’re a great band.  check ’em out!

a new service

so i’m trying to expand my list of services offered, and a photo shoot for SBQ this weekend inspired me to try this one: photo collages. why not try to add a little interest to a photo by putting in a frame with some stylish elements? a little Photoshop magic goes a long way.

i feel it can do one of two things: enhance a good photo, and make an average photo more interesting. thoughts?

p.s. i think the photos i took turned out well, too.

morning run – new picture

As I mentioned a couple of posts ago, I’m a member of NAPP. Being so gives me a place online to display some of my images. I haven’t updated it in waaay too long, but finally got around to adding a new shot today.

I took this picture about 3 Saturdays ago down near the james river. It was after one of the morning shoots with the fisherman, and as i was headed back to my car, a jogger headed my way. i noticed she was going to cross the rays shining through the trees, so i grabbed my camera and fired off a couple of shots.

She gave me a weird look and kept on running. a little bit faster than before, i think…
